Hey Blog World,
Fehi here again and todays Summer Learning Journey is about the Tāne Mahuta and weather we would like to visit it or not. I would like to say thank you to Megan and the Summer Learning Journey team for letting me join in this program.
What is Tāne Mahuta: Tāne Mahuta is forest in the Waipoua Forest in Northland. Some people may call it the 'Lord Of The Forest'.
Whats so cool about it: In the Tāne Mahuta there is the largest (meaning the biggest) Kauri tree in the Country (New Zealand).
Why Would I like to visit the Tāne Mahuta: I would really like to visit Tāne Mahuta in real life because I would like to see the biggest kauri tree in the country. If I were able to go there I would take a photo of me next to it and share it with my friends so they can experience what it feels like to see something very rare and cool.
So here's how my trip would be like if I could visit the Tāne Mahuta.
Bye Bloggers.

Hello again bloggers,
Fehi back again with another blog post of the week so in today's activity for Day one activity 2. Once again thank you Megan and the summer learning journey team for letting HPS in this program.
My Hometown:
The island of Tonga is a a very beautiful, kind, warming place you are able to have fun, be free and be thankful while your there. So in my hometown Nuku'alofa also known as the capital of Tonga is were I come, that and also Vava'u ( which is another place in Tonga were I also come from). Most students from HPS come from Tonga and also Samoa which is amazing to be in a room full of Polynesian students. The ground of Nuku'alofa is rocks and the scenery are long beautiful palm trees. Also the bright, beaming sun is always there but sometimes a little to much if you ask me.
Thats the island of Nuku'alofa to me.
Thanks for reading my blog post.

Summer Learning Journey Activity 1: Top 3 Facts!!!
Hey Blog World,
Fehi back again with another blog post for 'The Summer Learning Journey' and one Monday was the first day to start the activites and here I am starting it. So in This weeks task we are basing it off the land habitats of Aotearoa New Zealand. So in the first activity we had to find out top 3 task from this website(Link Here) and put them into our own words. Once again thank you Megan and the summer learning journey team for letting my school be apart of this.
Here's my Top 3 facts in my own words:
Fact 1: Original New Zealanders are also called kiwis but kiwi is not the fruit. It is a New Zealand's native flightless bird.
My version/twist to it: Us fellow New Zealander's are normally called kiws but what most people may perhapes is were named after the fruit but really were named after our native bird which u may not know the rare bird is flightless.
Fact 2: Original The official language is English and Maori.
My version/twist to it: The most common language's spoken here in New Zealand is English and Maori.
Fact 3: Original It is one of the three countries in the world that has two official national anthems of equal standing. The first is God Save the Queen and the other is God Defend New Zealand.
My version/twist on it: New Zealand is one in three countries to have two official national anthems. The first one is 'God Save the Queen' and the second one is 'God Defend New Zealand'.
Hope you guys enjoyed my three facts.
Come back tomorrow for the next activity.

My Summer Learning Journey Practise!!!!
Hey blog world,
Fehi back again with a blog post. Today it is about the Summer Learning Journey and it is a program about how most student go through the 'Summer Slide' which is when students who are learning and doing work in the holidays have a better start to learning and they are keeping there progress from the year before. So this activity is about how we have to pretend we came from the islands and into New Zealand, so we had to write a letter about our journey coming over to NZ.
Thank You Megan and the Summer Learning Journey team for letting Hay Park School apart of this cool program.
Here's my letter:
Dear Mum,
I have just arrived in New Zealand and let me tell you about the adventure coming here. It was harsh, sharks were swimming and my lungs were about to explode. The food we had on the boat was barely anything the size of the corn was the size of a rock. It was bad luck, my shell broke so that is why I write this letter to you today. You may think this is Fehi but it is her assistant Sariah... but i'm really sorry to say this to you by a letter, she died. The shark ate her head off then all her blood was everywhere. I am really sorry to ask this but can you pick me up from the dock.

Softball with only 150 words!!!
Talofa Lava blog world,
Fehi here again with another blog post for the week and it’s another one with 150 words about a picture this time. We had our first softball lesson two weeks ago and it was really exciting. We totally had the time of our 45 minutes with Andrew (our coach).
The bases are something very important in softball, it's basically one of the only ways to get points. We then had a game about how to throw and catch and it was pretty funny. In the photograph you can tell that we were the first people to lose but we had fun doing it.
Even though we were the first to sit down in the first round we came forth in the second round and that was pretty inspirational because even though you don’t succeed the first time you can always do better the next.
This blog post was really fun to make don’t forget to check out the photo down below and comment what you think the story behind it is.
Blog you folks later, stay tuned for more.
Feel free to comment about my blog post.

Whats In The News This Week?
Hey Blog World,
For todays blog post I will be showing you a reading task about the news from this week. The news had to published on the 23rd of October to the 30th today. The news article was about a plane that crashed, here's the link.
Interesting Fact: The plane was 737 passenger seat but only 188 people crashed into the water.
The News Was: from a scale of happy to sad, 10 being sad and 1 being happy and I give it a 9.5 meaning it was pretty sad but at least they did not die.
1 new word I learnt was: Authorities which means someone who give rights to someone, makes decisions and also someone who is in command.
Is it worth reading: It is definitely worth reading if you are interested in world problems are you love to see whats going on in the world to see how lucky you are to not be on the plane.
Thanks for reading and feel free to comment on how you think the article went.

Life Education With Herald in 150 words!!!
Hello Bloggers,
It has been a very busy first week of school so far.
We started off the week, with Life Education with Herald. If you don’t know what this is, it is all about how people are feeling and problem solving. In this photograph, you will notice my group and I are looking at a picture of a pair of shoes.
Each group got a photo of a different pair of shoes and they had to describe who we thought the photo belongs to. One group had a pair of ‘ Barbie’ shoes while another group had holey shoes.
We got a pair of old muddy tan shoes. We thought it belonged to a male who is very active and loves hiking, but really once all the groups said what they thought she told us the actual stories and it was heartbreaking. It was about a young man who lost his parents.
Thanks for watching.

Spring Holiday Homework 5: Billionaire Boy
Hey Blog World,
Fehi back again with another blog post for the holiday homework we have this spring. I read an online book called 'Billionaire Boy' written by David Williams. Spring Holiday Homework 4: Food Critic
Hey Blog World,
Fehi back again with another blog post for the 'Spring Holiday Homework' and this is my fourth blog post. Did you know there is only 4 days left until school starts? Besides talking about school, I got a very special gift from my brother when he came back from Australia... It was " COLES COOKIES," which is what I said when I saw them.
Cole's Cookies are more than just cookies to me they are a chocolatey medium crunch cookies that taste like a bite from heaven. If you didn't know this about, I have a close bond with these cookies an I was so happy to see he brought me 25 boxes of cookies... But I had to give about 15 of them to my close family, which meant I had 10 left.
What I Liked:
I think I enjoyed everything about these cookies, especially there real, smooth chocolate chip cookies they have inside them. Each bite of the cookies had plenty of chocolate chips inside. My siblings and nieces enjoyed them so we finished all ten of the leftover boxes in just almost 6 days.
What I Disliked:
I basically disliked nothing except my family thought they didn't pack enough cookies in each box (which is saying something cause they pack a lot of cookies inside).
Heres a photo of the box of cookies cause I didn't take a photo of them.

The Best Place In My Neighborhood....
Hey Blog World,
Fehi back again with another blog post for the Spring Holiday Homework assignments the senior school has over the holiday. This is my third blog post for this specific type of blog post and my goal for this spring is to be able to finish all eight assignments before school starts on the 22nd of October
For today's blog post I have to describe my favorite place in my neighborhood, while I guess neighborhood means the street and the closer things around you. I just recently moved into this house cause my old house and many other pupils around Mt Roskill is currently being demolished into little specs of dust and large blocks of wood and other appliances. My family and I are still getting used to being around this side of Mt Roskill so for me, its not quite my neighborhood yet. So instead I will talk about my old neighborhood.
This neighborhood was very quiet and most people knew each other ( mainly the houses closet to them). I grew up with many friends that soon became family members and to this day we are all still in touch with each other. My favorite part in my neighborhood was probably the small alleyway which leads to the main road that leads to the Puketapapa Mountain.
The small alleyway was filled with leaves and plants and little bushes and sometimes the neighbors around the alleyway would say hello to us and then that would start a brand new friendship.
So that is the best place in my neighborhood... (In my opinion)

Spring Holiday Homework 2: Kiwi Kids News
Hey bloggers,
Fehi back again with my second blog post for the spring holiday homework. For today's blog post I will be writing a short yet very informative summary about an article I read on Kiwi Kids News. The article I read was all about Australia and how a part of the land was vanished by erosion ( which mean it was caused by wind, water, and natural sources and weathers. This whole incident took place on Sunday 23rd September 2018, and the article was published on the 27th of September. I recently learned a lot of things in this very short article, for example, lands can vanish and when they vanish cars and many large objects go with it.
Since this event took place they have urgently told the pupil in Inskip Point in Queensland to avoid this area. They mainly told the people to avoid the area because this wasn't the first time its happen in Inskip Point... Its the second time, the first time in 2015 cars, tents and a caravan vanished with the land.
If you learned something in this blog post, feel free to tell me in comments down below.
Don't forget to check out Kiwi Kids News for more news to learn.

Breaking News!
How’s your day been bloggers,
Today I read an article about how the koalas are endangered… Yep that’s right, the lovely, cute aussie animal is endangered. The fluffy, adorable animals are in the news cause it’s important for all those koala lovers to know that there favourite animals maybe extinct in 2050.
“2050,” is what you are probably thinking and yes I know that's like miles away from now but it's important for the generation before us to see them and to see the beauty of Australia.
In this article the WWF- which stands for World Wildlife Fund, said that many of the natural koala’s homes are being destroyed throughout all these years.
The estimated guess of how many koalas are in New South Wales are only 20,000 .
What would you do if you were a koala and your home is being taken apart right in front of your eyes?
Thanks for reading my blog, check this website to read more.

The Street Poem!!!
Hello blog world,
Today in class we had writing with a very special lady... Ms Butler. We do writing with her once a week which is pretty cool if you ask me.
For writing today we were learning to describe, so we borrowed a poem and changed some of the words to adjectives of our own.
Heres my poem:
In my street there are vibrant houses, dull houses,
formal houses and normal houses.
Broken roofs, renovated roofs,
nasty square windows with moss all over it.
Hope you enjoyed the poem.

Parekowhai Class Takes The Stage!!!!!
Hey Bloggers,
On Thursday 9th August 2018, Parekowhai Class took the stage for assembly. We showed our outstanding voices and grooving yet trendy dance moves to the wonderful yet clever pupil of Hay Park School. Our blogs were shared and our performance made smiles. The hall of Hay Park is where it is held, as we encouraged the school to check our blogs out.
Our Performance
Firstly we started off our assembly the national anthem with the school. We sang gracefully and our hearts were filled with joy. Soon we invited one of the best singers in Hay Park School, Mrs. Rai to the stage of awesomeness to help us sing a song called ‘ The Wake-Up Song’. We then showed our audience our wickedly cool voices and flexible stretches. We sang with our mouths opened to the fullest and our bodies we stretched to the limit. The song soon finished and we showed our audience how we sit down- respectfully.
Holiday Blog Challenge
Then after we sang with our joyful voices, we told the school about the blogging challenge we did over the holidays. Did you know in the amazing Parekowhai Class we have been blogging over the holidays so we can interact with our blog audience, not only during school time but also during the school holidays. Mandita (Another student in my class) was the first to present he work, which was definitely outstanding. (Don’t forget to check her blog) Soon after Mandita finished her shared her wonderful work it was Simon’s turn to his blog post about a ‘Dog Doing CPR’. If you ask it was a pretty amazing blog post.
Bad Habits
Do you have a bad habit? While that was the next thing my class shared about. Luckily we had two very brave students from my class shared their bad habits. For two girls I've known for a long I sure didn’t know this, but out of everything that I’ve learnt in this assembly I realized there is always something brand new that you can learn from anyone about anything. Rhia and Gloria were the lucky two for this one.
Cook Island Language Week.
Did you that last week was Cook Island Week. In my class, we made an artwork from the Cook Island called Tivaevae. In Parekowhai Class we only have one person in my class comes from the Cook Islands and her name is Inagaro if you didn’t that means love in the Cook Island. Ina shared some information about one of the most popular places in Magaia which is where she comes from in the Cook Island.
Youtube
If you are new to my blog then you probably don’t know what this is on about. Here’s a quick brief about what I’m about to write about. So have you ever wondered why Youtube actually exist? While in my class we answered the two most pondered questions in our class. Those questions were, have you ever wondered why we have goosebumps? Or why do we yawn? If you would like to know how we yawn check out my previous blog posts. Patrick ( One of my classmates) was the lucky one who got to share his Youtube Recommendation. Also, don’t forget to check out Patrick's blog.
Sea Life Extinction
There was once a healthy yet fit turtle living its life in the amazing ocean. Until he found a piece of twine and a long strip of plastic. Auckland Zoo Hospital soon took the turtle to treat it but little did they it was the turtle last couple days. Yesss!!!! It’s true the poor thing died. Mose was another student from my class who was lucky to share his work. Don’t forget to go check his blog out.
Overall the assembly went to plan besides the Ipad which was filming our assembly fell during the middle of the assembly. Also towards the end, we had a round of applause but we didn’t really get to say our two last lines. We had a pretty great assembly!!! Can’t wait for the next one…
See Ya Bloggers,
Feel Free To Comment if you have done an assembly before.
Bye!!!

The reason why I decided to make this blog post about them is because they are the people who make me happy everyday and also the reason why I enjoy coming to school every 5 days of the week
I have made lots of memory with all of this lovely kids, each of this students mean the world to me.
Especially Sariah, Mekilini and Yazmine who have been the ultimate best friends anyone could ask for.
They care for me when i'm hurt and we all have this special bond that can never be broken.
Besides my Friends I also have a lovely family that means the world to me.
Before I tell you all about them, I need to introduce them to you.
So here is my Family. (Just my siblings)
I enjoy living with this two marvelous people because they always keep me going and even though me have ups and downs sometimes, they are still the two most amazing people of ever meet.
My Older Brother Sione: My brother is the most toughest person if meet, besides my Dad. He cares for my little sister and I and mostly he actually enjoys hanging out with us and he loves making us laugh.
In my house my brother and I always like scaring each other, but sadly I can never scare him. The list goes on and on but this blog post is getting to long so I will talk about one more thing and that the end for the blog post.
My Little Sister Paita: My little sister is the cutest 3 year old I've ever meet. She is very outgoing and she loves to run around. She is also very sweet in many ways she enjoy's sharing with us, she also loves to hang out with Sione and I.
